The Elementary STEM Endorsement (ESE) program kicked off the Fall semester with a field trip to the Great Salt Lake through the “Nature of Science & Engineering” course. Both cohorts of the ESE program met with the Great Salt Lake Institute at the Great Salt Lake Marina. They made winogradsky columns, tested the salinity of the water, collected brine shrimp and brine fly larva, and learned about the diverse ecosystem of the Great Salt Lake.
