New addition to REFUGES Afterschool program


Many students in the REFUGES afterschool program have indicated that they feel a high level of stress in their daily lives. In July, Nadia Jassim (REFUGES Program Coordinator) participated in a five-day workshop on mindfulness-based stress reduction. She will apply her training to help REFUGES students cope more effectively with short- and long-term stress, develop greater self-respect, and improve physical and psychological well-being. We hope that this new addition to the REFUGES program will contribute to student success and wellness, and we look forward to implementing it in 2016!
