The Utah science standards for grades 6-8 have been undergoing revisions. On October 9, 2015, a 30-day public review period began.

Holly Godsey, Director of Student Success and Teacher Development at the CSME, is a member of the science standards writing team. The standards have drawn criticism for their handling of climate change. View Dr. Godsey’s recent Op-Ed  written in response.

Public comments on the standards may be submitted until November 9, 2015. Visit the Utah State Office of Education website to view the standards and submit feedback.
