Kathy Liu, a finalist at the Salt Lake Valley Science & Engineering Fair (SLVSEF), has won an Intel Foundation Young Scientist award at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona. Kathy, a student at West High School in Salt Lake City, won the $50,000 award for her project, “Nature-Based Solid Polymer Electrolytes for Improved Safety, Sustainability, and Efficiency in High-Performance Rechargeable Batteries.” The Intel Foundation Young Scientist award is one of the top three prizes awarded at ISEF.
