CSME continues to provide support to REU programs on campus.

In Summer 2018, students in the Physics & Astronomy Research Experiences for Undergraduates and Summer Undergraduate Research Program joined with undergraduate researchers from several other U of U programs to present their findings at a research symposium.

Winners included:

• Olivia Cooper (Smith College) – Grand Prize
• Adityajit Kang (Bennington College) – Best poster presentation
• Logan Draper (University of Utah) – Best poster presentation
• Emily Swafford (University of Miami) – 2nd place poster presentation
• Alice Curtin (Carleton College) – Honorable mention
• Galen Bergsten (University of Utah)  – Honorable mention
